With spring sports seasons wrapped up, awards are still trickling in for Averill Park CSD student-athletes.
Marissa Nagel was named to the Fourth Team All-State for her play on the softball field, leading her team into the Section II tournament. Marissa was also named to the Times Union’s Second Team as a shortstop while McKenzie Swinson was also named to the second team as an outfielder. Pitcher Jadyn Lee was named to the second team as well.
Jamie Cocca was named to the Times Union’s Track & Field First Team for both the Shot Put and Discus. Jamie placed fifth in the Shot Put and fourth in the Discus at the New York State Meet.
The 4×100 relay team of Lydia Munandi, Lydia Ware, Caryn Zimmerman and Sophia Morone were named to the Times Union’s Second Team All-Stars list.
Eric Schuman earned a spot on the Times Union’s First Team for tennis after advancing to the Section II final. A successful regular season saw Eric slotted as the No. 3 seed in sectionals.
Anthony Childrose was selected to the Times Union’s First Team for going 7-1 on the mound during the baseball season with a 1.26 ERA. Outfielder Joe Milanese was named to the Second Team.
