Welcome to new fulltime staff members Rachel Brown and Samantha Keenan!
Rachel Brown, District, Athletic Trainer
Although Ms. Brown was with the District as its Athletic Trainer last year, this is the first year that she is officially employed by APCSD.
Ms. Brown originally became interested in becoming an athletic trainer because she played sports in high school and took an athletic training class during her junior year. After high school, Ms. Brown earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Athletic Training from Huntington University and went on to earn a Masters in Athletic Training from Manchester University.
Fun fact! Ms. Brown created a comic with a friend, and had it published in a local comic magazine in Oklahoma. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog.
Samantha Keenan, AMS, Student Assistance Counselor
Mrs. Keenan attended The College of Saint Rose for both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. This will be her second year working in schools after spending a year at Lansingburgh CSD.
“What drew me to Averill Park was all the amazing things I’ve heard about the students, faculty and the school district as a whole,” she said. “I know Averill Park is a tight knit and supportive community and I’m looking forward to being a part of it!”
Fun Fact! Mrs. Keenan has traveled to Uganda, Africa! In her spare time, she enjoys reading books and watching movies.
