West Sand Lake Elementary School had John Gray, local author and news broadcaster, visit this week!
Students had the pleasure of a meet-and-greet while he autographed his ‘Keller’s Heart” book for students and staff. Mr. Gray’s message is one that we carry every day at WSL, as the school-wide theme is “Kindness Starts with Me”.
Mr. Gray’s message about being different, embracing our differences and being a friend to all is one that filled hearts! WSL ran a drive to collect for Mr. Gray’s dedication to local animal shelters and rescue missions. The school drive of “WSL is making a difference one heart at a time” raised $550 to donate in Keller’s name. Mr. Gray read his book which was so meaningful to the students and adults alike. The visit was so moving that WSL has already begun to collaborate together for ideas for next year!
