NYS HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION MEASURES PARENT EVENT

The Board of Regents is creating a Blue Ribbon Commission to review the State’s high school graduation measures and reaffirm what it means to obtain a diploma in New York State. The Board of Regents and State Education Department are holding regional meetings to help inform the work of the Blue Ribbon Commission. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to break into smaller groups to discuss and provide feedback to the Department.

AMS HEART CHALLENGE

The AMS Heart Challenge will take place after school on Thursday, March 5. Proceeds from this event benefit the American Heart Association. More information is being provided in PE classes.

APO – YANKEE TRAILS BUS TRIP RAFFLE

Support APO programs by purchasing a raffle ticket(s) to win a day “Bus Trip for 2” from Yankee Trails to NYC or Boston (certificate doesn’t expire until 12/31/2020). Get your tickets at AMS before each “Willy Wonka JR” show THIS Friday & Saturday (3/6 & 3/7) or the AMS concert 3/17. You may also purchase online via Paypal! Paypal money can be sent to ams.parentorg@yahoo.com (put “Raffle tickets” in the comment section).
One ticket for $5 or 3 tickets for $10. Deadline to get your ticket(s) is April 1st. (Winner will be notified by phone). Thank you Yankee Trails for supporting APO!

YEARBOOK ORDERS

Orders are being accepted for the 2019/2020 Algonquin Middle School yearbook.
The cost of the basic yearbook is $26.00 with upgrades optional.
Order your child’s copy by going to ybpay.lifetouch.com and enter code # 11617120. The deadline for ordering is March 31, 2020. Extra yearbooks will not be available if you do not order online.

INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK DINNER

Join us for yet another fun evening for all as the Averill Park LOTE Department hosts its annual international potluck dinner Thursday, March 26, 6-8 p.m. at Algonquin Middle School.

Save the Date: Coding Club meets next week on Wednesday, March 11 afterschool until 3:20 p.m.

Book Club Opportunity:
The Pleasure Read book club meets on Thursday this week from second dismissal until 3:20. If your child would like to come, they can sign up now in the library and bring a middle school book of their choice.
