The members of Youth and Government at Averill Park High School have had the opportunity to participate in an online state conference recently. Students participating are Emma Hanlon, Isla Multunas, Tyler Michaels, Owen Perala, Jason Strickland, Isabella LaFreniere, Kate Happy, Lilly Kronau, Carley Salerno and Xander Michaels.
Students presented their bills in committees with some bills reaching the Assembly. Everyone in the program has done a wonderful job in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the Averill Park Youth in Government members are freshmen, and not only have they continued to participate in the virtual conference, they have spoken on as many bills as they can.
