LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ANNOUNCED
The last day of the 2019-2020 school year for Averill Park Central School District K-12 students, faculty, staff and 10-month employees is Friday, June 19. It was originally scheduled for Friday, June 26. This new date marks our 180th day of school, which meets the requirement for state aid from the State Education Department. Thank you.
AMS SEND OFF EVENT! SAVE THE DATE – TUES JUNE 16 – 6PM
We are preparing for an exciting “AMS Send Off” Event to mark the end of the school year and to help recognize the outstanding accomplishments of our Grade 8 students. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 from 6-7 p.m. (Rain date: Thurs. June 18).
Please join the AMS staff as we host a “reverse parade” at Algonquin, where families will drive through our school parking lot and be greeted by AMS staff as we wish everyone a great summer and our Grade 8 students best wishes for their continued learning at the Averill Park High School!

NO CLASSES ON FRIDAY, MAY 22 & MONDAY, MAY 25
There will be no classes on Friday, May 22 as teachers will be working to prepare their classrooms for summer cleaning. Also, as a reminder there will be no classes on Monday, May 25 in honor of Memorial Day. We hope that students enjoy the day on Friday.

Coding Club Coding Club is back again for another session! Coding Club is on May 20th from 2:30 until 3:15. We will be coding and working on the Scratch website. TEACHER ACCESS HOURS
AMS teachers hold Access Hours, generally by Google Meet, each day. Students are encouraged to check in with their teachers should they have questions about learning activities or need additional support.
Please encourage your child to reach out to their teachers, as needed, based on the schedule provided below, which is updated weekly.

Parents and guardians are reminded that our Team Google Homework Calendars are the central hub of learning activity information for your child.

As a reminder, students and parents can subscribe to the Google Homework Calendar. To do so, simply click on the “+Google Calendar” button at the bottom of the team calendar.

The AMS Main Office is physically closed, however we are checking the main office voicemail. If you need assistance please leave a message with a good contact phone number and someone will return your call.
Please note that when school staff call parents during the closure, the number will appear as “Private Caller” or “Restricted.” Thank you.
