  7. Mrs. Stokes Retires After...

Mrs. Stokes has been a part of the Averill Park Central School District for 43 years and has decided that it’s time to retire and begin a new adventure.

Mrs. Stokes attended APCSD and worked as a medical assistant after graduating. After finding that the schedule didn’t work out for her, she returned to the District and spent the last 30 years working in various capacities.

“I went to work for the district because the school schedule allowed me to be home with my three children,” she said.

Mrs. Stokes began working as a Special Education Aide and is currently a typist.

“I loved all the years I spent with the kids. There are so many fond memories that I can’t even begin to list them,” she said. “I will miss seeing all the students that brighten my day and my co-workers that helped me through some pretty tough times.”

Mrs. Stokes plans on traveling, riding her Harley and hopes to have more time to enjoy her camp in Schroon Lake.
