Author John Gray Hosts Virtual Visit

Students and families at Miller Hill-Sand Lake Elementary School were treated to a virtual visit with John Gray, NewsChannel 13 anchor and author of the children’s book Keller’s Heart.

Mr. Gray was scheduled for a school visit before the closure and graciously agreed to make the virtual visit just as special. Since he joined us from his home, guests were able to see his pups, watch them enjoy a treat, and even listen to them ring their bell to go outside.

Mr. Gray answered many questions from excited students and gave them all a reason to smile!

Many students were able to follow along with Mr. Gray’s reading with a book either purchased by their family or donated by our very generous PTA. Mr. Gray had previously signed all of the books before the closure in anticipation of his visit.

 

Prior to the visit, MHSL provided gifts to Mr. Gray, his wife, Courtney, and their dogs.

Also, a carload of pet supplies was delivered to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in John’s name. We partnered with Kelsey’s Promise to collect those donations this winter, and Kelsey’s mom, Rachael, happily delivered the supplies.
