UPDATE FROM ALGONQUIN MIDDLE SCHOOL

Hello everyone,

We here at AMS have been working hard to gear up for the start of school on Wednesday, September 9th.  Yesterday the full faculty and staff returned to the building to engage in staff training activities, finish getting our classrooms ready and continue our work on curriculum adjustments for the year ahead.

A letter was mailed on Friday, August 28 to the primary mailing address for each student indicating their Morning Meeting and team assignments.  Those letters should be arriving in mailboxes, if they have not already.

On Tuesday, September 8th families will receive an email message from the school with directions for each of our student groups (Hybrid  Cohort 1 – Last Names A-K; Hybrid Cohort 2 – Last Names L-Z; 100% Virtual Students) with specific learning plans for the first three days of school.

Thank you for your continued support as we get ready for a great school year.

REMINDER:  “WARRIORS READ” – AMS SUMMER READING

This year our Summer Reading Program is more flexible.  We are simply encouraging students to read at least one book this summer and challenge them to read as many as possible!

As students complete their reading we are asking that they complete our very simple “Warriors Read” form.  Click here for the form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe4NvlXPBR_Gpg1uDD18L-MmblaejDPqdNpMwVDBg3vBTghVA/viewform

Throughout the summer we will do social media shout outs to those students who have been reading the most books.  In the fall we will recognize the grade level, Morning Meeting room and the top 10 individual students in each grade level!

For more detailed information, please click on the following link provided by our ELA and Literacy teachers: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15XxEf8i-UK9EhYle4IKvt9SL_rzcc4FpnpZFPiJCbmY/edit?usp=sharing
