A team of Averill Park High School students participated in the 15th Annual Northeast U.S. Character Education Youth Leadership Summit at The Sage Colleges on December 8.
Representing AP were Catherine Hannigan, Kyle Hunter, Kaitlyn Bates, Bryan Sleasman, Sarah Davidson, Courtney Gorleski, Anastasia Valenti and Kelsey Granger. Hannigan gave the welcoming speech which focused on the importance of character and leadership.
The theme of this year's summit was "Character Education Matters in the School and the Workplace: Your Career Starts Now." Attendees heard a keynote address by Clifton Taulbert, an internationally acclaimed character development speaker, entrepreneur, businessman, and Pulitzer Prized nominated author (Last Train North) and attended several workshop offerings.
