Hello APCSD Community,
Last year we started the Adopt-A-Senior drive for the class of 2020 because they had lost so much at the end of their senior year. We wanted to make sure these students knew that the community was behind them and found a way to make the end of the year special. The event happened beautifully. Well, unfortunately, the Class of 2021 is no stranger to sacrificing the traditional senior year events.
We are happy to announce that we will continue this Adopt-A-Senior tradition! We want to show this group of students that the community cares about them and we have their backs!
Think of this as a Secret Santa – we will not be sharing with seniors which one of you adopted them. It creates a little mystery and fun. We ask that you purchase and wrap a congratulatory gift or care package for a senior who will be randomly assigned to you. When you package your gift make sure you have clearly marked on the outside – Senior’s name only please, do not sign your name. Gifts will need to be dropped off to the high school during the week of June 14-18. More information will be sent to adopters in the future.
Gifts are intended to celebrate our seniors and to lift their spirits. Some ideas are notes (don’t sign your name), drawings, gift cards, games, fun snacks, something for “after high school” – have fun with it! Price is not most important, but since many people asked last year, around $50 would be an appropriate spending limit. We will be sending you survey responses for your senior to the best of our ability. Please remember, due to COVID-19 we are unable to give any homemade food. *All food must be store bought and in the original package. *** Due to the size of buses making the delivery, limit your package to a maximum size a medium size bag, no larger than 2’x1’ box. ***
If your situation changes and you are no longer in a position to adopt, no worries, but please let us know.

If you would like to donate to the cause financially, instead of or in addition to adopting your own senior you can mail in or drop off cash or check to “AP Class of 2021” Please indicate that any donation is for Adopt a Senior. You can also donate online through Family ID.
