  7. John Gray Visits AMS...

AMS was very glad to have author and Channel 10 newscaster John Gray here (virtually) for our 18th annual Richtol’s Read All Day!

Mr. Gray graduated from LaSalle Institute, Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Oswego. He has won many awards for his writing, including two Emmy awards. He has written the books Manchester Christmas, God Needed A Puppy, Sweet Polly Petals and Keller’s Heart.

Today AMS students were treated to a reading of Keller’s Heart, a story with positive messages. Keller is a very special dog John rescued who is blind and deaf, but he owns two other dogs who are deaf. Students talked about what a comfort pets have been to us all, as we have been home more during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Gray answered questions about being an author, what inspired him to write Keller’s Heart and about his five dogs as well. Thank you John Gray!

AMS has been collecting shoe boxes, old towels and pipe cleaners for the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, in conjunction with the RRAD event.
