Today, Governor Cuomo noted that the state is relaxing its mask mandate for schools when students are outside, which includes for recess, physical education, outdoors classes and athletics.
Based on this announcement, and in anticipation of an Executive Order and guidance from the NYS Department of Health, students and staff members in the Averill Park Central School District will not be required to wear masks outside beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Masks will still be required for all students and staff while indoors and on district transportation.
