On Thursday, July 8, the District held its annual Board of Education Reorganizational Meeting, a Code of Conduct Hearing, a Safety Plan Hearing, and a Regular Board of Education Meeting.
Some highlights of the night are detailed below.
New Board of Education Members
The Board of Education welcomed its newest member, Jackie Geraci, who was elected to serve on the Board for a three-year term beginning July 2021. In addition, Jessica Zweig was sworn in for another three-year term. Members of the BOE voted for Jessica Zweig to be this year’s President with Dr. Peter Schaefer serving as the Vice President.
Appointment of New Assistant Superintendent
Members of the BOE approved the appointment of a new Assistant Superintendent for Business. Mrs. Carrie Nyc-Chevrier will join the District on November 1, 2021, coinciding with the retirement of current Assistant Superintendent for Business, Mr. Michael Ouimet. A profile of Mrs. Nyc-Chevrier will be coming soon.
Hearings
Hearings were held for the 2021-22 Safety Plan and Code of Conduct. The plans can be accessed below. Members of the community who wish to offer comments can email the District Clerk here.
District Goals
The BOE approved the District Goals, which are:
- Students will graduate college and career ready.
- Students will productively engage in their school community.
- Students will be digitally fluent by demonstrating the ability to live productively and safely in a technology-influenced society.
