On Thursday, July 22, Emelia Sala was recognized by the New York State Daughters of the American Revolution for winning the Flag Essay Contest at the state level.
Each year, the Daughters of the American Revolution host a Flag Essay Contest for students in fifth and sixth grade. From all of the essays that are written and submitted, each local chapter selects essays to submit for consideration at the regional and state levels.
