The APHS Summer Connections program, designed to help incoming freshmen prepare for the high school experience, wrapped up last week.
Students learned to identify their own personal strengths (and needs) and focused on character traits that will help them to succeed in high school. They became familiar with the layout of the high school and the resources available to obtain the goal of a successful ninth grade year.
Students worked on self-awareness, self-management, goal-setting, organization, career research, multiple intelligence, learning styles, cooperation activities, classroom community building, active listening, and healthy habits.
