On Tuesday, October 12, residents of the Averill Park Central School District will vote on a Capital Project to improve critical safety needs and building condition deficiencies across the district. Voting will take place at Averill Park High School from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gymnasium.

If approved by voters, the $28.5 million project would provide improvements at every school building along with the transportation building. This referendum is drastically scaled back from an original two-proposition project that was valued at $45.5 million and voted down by the community.

    • Door Hardware Upgrades (Security)
  • Roofing Replacements
  • Masonry Restoration
  • Kitchen Equipment Upgrades / Replacements
  • Heating & Ventilation System Upgrades
    • Plumbing Upgrades
  • Electrical Upgrades

High School

  • 300 Wing – Moisture Issues
  • Bus Atrium – Heating
  • Emergency Generator

Algonquin Middle School

  • Courtyard – Repair Window Heads
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

Poestenkill Elementary School

  • Cafeteria – Replace Upper Windows
  • Cafeteria – Potential Exterior Wall Repair

George Washington

  • Select Wood Window Replacement
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

West Sand Lake

  • Select Bathroom Renovations
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

Miller Hill

  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

Bus Garage

  • Replace Overhead Doors
