REMINDER: The Averill Park Central School District is holding a Superintendent’s Conference Day on Friday, November 5. This was originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, but has since been rescheduled. There will be no school for students on Friday, November 5. November 2 will serve as a normal day of school for students and staff.
Additionally, the District will hold a “Go Home Early” drill on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021.
All schools plan to dismiss 15 minutes earlier than regular dismissal times that day and there will be no late buses for Middle School and High School. Dismissal procedures will take place as they normally would on a regular day of school.
New York state requires that all school districts hold an annual “Go Home Early” drill to ensure that all students and staff members know the procedures for what to do in case of an emergency which would force the District to close school early.
Planned Early Dismissal Times:
- Poestenkill Elementary – 3:10 p.m.
- West Sand Lake Elementary – 3:10 p.m.
- Miller Hill-Sand Lake Elementary – 3:10 p.m.
- Algonquin Middle School – 2:10 p.m.
- Averill Park High School – 1:55 p.m.
