GOOD START TO THE NEW YEAR AT AMS

It has been a good start to the new year here at AMS. Despite the many challenges we face during this time, our students and staff are doing a great job of pulling together and keeping our focus on teaching and learning.

Students here continue to do a good job of following our safety expectations and we are all working together to keep school as safe as possible and open for our students.

Thank you for your continued vigilance for covid symptoms and having your child stay home and get tested when they are ill.

Additionally, when a student is ill please use parental judgement if your child is well enough to participate in school work virtually or if the student should make up the work upon their return to school. While we are offering limited virtual learning right now, we recognize that there are times when a student should focus on resting and feeling better rather than keeping up-to-date on their school work. Our teaching staff stands ready to support students as they return from illness and will help them with that transition, as needed.

Together we will weather the next few weeks and come out a stronger school community in the end.

Thank you for your continued support of our outstanding school.
Rob Messia, Principal

WARRIOR WEDNESDAY – 1/12/22

Our next Warrior Wednesday is coming up on Wednesday, January 12th. Students are encouraged to wear Blue and Gold on that day. This month’s focus, as we kick off the new year, is “Goal Setting.” Students will participate in a circle discussion on goal setting, watch a BrainPop video on “SMART Goals,” complete a group Jumble activity and set some of their own goals for the first half of 2022. Students will also use a portion of our Warrior Wednesday time to complete the district’s Panorama survey on supportive relationships, growth mindset, emotional regulation and social awareness. We always look forward to Warrior Wednesdays and hope that it will be another fun community building experience for our students. Thank you for your continued support of our school’s character education programming.
