STUDENT COUNCIL THEME WEEK CONTINUES

The AMS Student Council is sponsoring a Theme Week (2/14-2/18). The themes are as follows:

  • Thursday – Anything But Your Backpack Day
  • Friday – Pajama Day

“Anything But Your Backpack Day,” is a theme day that has been very popular this year at schools across the country. It encourages students to think creatively about a way to carry their school items in “anything but their backpack.” Parameters below are being put in place and they will be shared with students on the school announcements:

  • Must be able to be use it all day
  • Must be able to put it under your seat during classes
  • Must be school appropriate, safe and not breakable
  • When in doubt, ask your parents, teachers or Mr. Messia if it is allowable
  • Don’t take it personally if you’re asked to just use your bookbag if your item doesn’t work in the school environment

He has a new book out called Fallout, which he will speak about. It picks up where his award winning book Bomb, (about WWII), left off. Fallout is about the race between the US and the Soviet Union to build bigger bombs and to be the first to travel to space. Readers will get a closer look at the behind the scenes players and spies who were involved in a potential World War Three.
