Averill Park defeated Tappan Zee, 54-48, in the Class A New York State Championship on March 19 at Hudson Valley Community College.
Amelia Wood led the Warriors with 20 points, 20 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Michelina Lombardi had 11 points and two rebounds while Tatiana Tune had eight points, three rebounds and three assists, Bailee Lange had six points and two rebounds, Taylor Holohan five points, and Kayleigh Ahern and Arianna Verardi two points apiece.
