Congratulations to Steven Legnard, Nancy Ryan and Bray Engel for being named Averill Park CSD Warriors of the Month for October 2022!
Steven Legnard works incredibly hard behind the scenes as the district’s messenger, ensuring that materials are delivered to each building in a timely manner. Steven assists with the school breakfast and lunch programs, and chips in wherever is needed. Over the summer, he went above and beyond as a custodial worker at Algonquin Middle School, painting countless classrooms, hallways, the school stage, locker rooms, and doorway trim.
Nancy Ryan, the Secretary at West Sand Lake Elementary School, is said by many to be the heart and glue of WSL. Nancy consistently adds support wherever it is needed and is the source of information for parents, students, faculty and staff. Throughout the pandemic, she worked with three different principals during a change in leadership and kept everything running smoothly. Nancy has a positive attitude, is well organized, knowledgeable, and greets everyone with a smile on her face.
Bray Engel is not only an English teacher at the High School, but is also a jack of all trades for the district. Bray teaches, runs the auditorium, and records / livestreams events and Board of Education meetings. He has also become a regular bus driver, subbing for bus runs, shuttles and sports trips. He has also filled in as a substitute teacher during his prep time and signed on to be a mentor in the technology program.
