Today students in grades 3-6 had a very special opportunity to see Lauren Tarshis, the author of the popular “I Survived” series!
From the Titanic disaster to the Wellington avalanche to the Galveston hurricane, her books show kids persevering in very dangerous situations. Ms. Tarshis spoke about how she decides which natural disasters to write about, how she does her research, and she was able to answer students’ questions. One of the books in the series is even part of the new ELA curriculum taught at the elementary level. We are grateful to Northshire Bookstore, who made this special opportunity possible.
