  7. Career Fair, Blood Drive...

The Averill Park High School held its annual Career Fair and Blood Drive on Thursday, October 27. This is the first time the Career Fair has taken place since prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 25 vendors visited the campus with participants from college programs, trades, coding, welding, healthcare, cosmetology, the military, and construction. Virtual reality tours were of companies were conducted by the Expertise Project and an electric car demo was provided by the Hudson Valley Community College Automotive program.

The Questar III BOCES Heavy Equipment Program also held demonstrations. A group of interested students from Algonquin Middle School traveled to APHS to learn about the program from school guidance counselor Joe Plantz. In addition to checking out the heavy equipment, students had the opportunity to meet with Questar teachers and current Averill Park CTE students.

While the Career Fair was going on, the APHS Key Club held its Fall Red Cross Blood Drive.
