The Averill Park Central School District will conduct a Go Home Early drill on Thursday, November 10, 2022. All schools will dismiss 15 minutes earlier than regular dismissal that day and students will travel home as they normally do. Parents who pick up their child(ren) at school should plan to arrive at school 15 minutes early.
Dismissal times are as follows:
- MHSL – 3:10 pm
- WSL – 3:10 pm
- PES – 3:10 pm
- AMS – 2:10 pm
- APHS – 1:55 pm
New York State requires all school districts to hold an annual “Go Home Early” drill to ensure students and staff know what to do in the event of an emergency that requires school grounds to be cleared with students needing to be transported home.
On November 10, there will be no late buses at the High School or Middle School. All students and staff will be required to leave the school building, but will be allowed to re-enter if needed. GCC will operate as normal.
