Congratulations to Scott Day and Julianne Strano for being named Averill Park CSD Employees of the Month for December 2022!
Day, a Custodian at Averill Park High School, is called on to do a variety of tasks throughout the district on any given day, and he does them all professionally and without complaint. He is described as kind, conscientious, responsive, a hard worker, and an exceptional leader, and is credited with helping to create a cheerful environment at the high school. Day’s leadership shows through when he goes out of his way to check in on, and compliment, members of his crew on the work they do.
Strano, a fourth grade teacher at West Sand Lake Elementary School, consistently goes above and beyond for her students and colleagues. Her creativity and kind heart help make connections with each of her students, and she works incredibly hard to inspire everyone she interacts with. Strano has developed a relationship with Northshire Books, resulting in many students being able to meet published authors, both in-person and virtually. She is also heavily involved in K-Kids and does everything with a smile and a bit of humor.
