The girls varsity basketball team defeated Catholic Central 62-49 to win its ninth straight Section 2, Class A championship and 14th title in the last 17 seasons.
Tournament MVP Taylor Holohan led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds while Arianna Verardi added 14 points, and Tatiana Tune and Kayleigh Ahern had 10 apiece.
The team advances to the NYSPHSAA Class A Regional Final on Saturday, March 11 at 1:45 p.m. at HVCC to take on the winner of the game between Section X champion Malone and the Section III champion Indian River or Central Square.
