  7. RETIREMENTS: CHRISTINE SEARS

Christine Sears began working as a Teaching Assistant at Algonquin Middle School to have the same schedule as her children when they were younger. Now, 30 years later, she is ready to retire.

“My favorite memories at AP are working in the classrooms with many, many children, inspiring them to try their best, nurturing them, laughing with them, listening to them, helping them learn, and teaching them to have courage to advocate for themselves,” she said.

Mrs. Sears will miss the day-to-day interactions with students and will miss watching them grow from incoming sixth grade students to outgoing eighth graders. She will also miss her colleagues and many great friends at AMS.

In retirement, Mrs. Sears plans to watch and enjoy her grandchildren.
