This year, the Averill Park Central School District expanded its partnership with St. Jude the Apostle School for its Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program to include three classrooms, educating 47 students.
Universal Pre-Kindergarten is a government-funded program that makes Pre-K education available to families on a lottery system. Public school districts such as Averill Park CSD apply for the funding and families apply for the program. Averill Park is housing their UPK classrooms at St. Jude the Apostle School. It is an excellent partnership and both ends have seen a benefit from the program since its first year.
