  7. Retirements: Olga Ashline

After 20 years of teaching in the Averill Park Central School District, most recently as a Health Teacher / Career Education leader at Averill Park High School, Olga Ashline has retired.

“I never set out to be a teacher. My mother was an English teacher in her native country of Mexico, and then she was a Spanish teacher at Averill Park. She was my inspiration,” Mrs. Ashline said, adding that her favorite memories have included working with incredible colleagues.

In retirement, Mrs. Ashline plans to stay busy, in part, starting a foundation to help people with out-of-control student debt.

“I want to work on cooking projects that will benefit the elderly and underserved communities,” she added. “I want to travel and I want to create travel opportunities for teens who are craving volunteer experiences.”
