A staggering 528 works of art were submitted from 28 area schools, of which 103 were selected by local artists/jurors: Nuveen Barwari, Tara Fracalossi, and Leah Rico. The Averill Park Art Department is proud to announce that five art students had their work selected for this highly competitive exhibition held at the Opalka Gallery at Sage College.

Please congratulate the following students:

Z Clerico– Grade 10,  Conte Crayon Drawing titled “Windows”
Sierra Iwaneczko– Grade 10, Conte Crayon Drawing titled, “Contemplating”
Spenser Sweet– Grade 9, Conte Crayon Drawing titled, “Contained”
Carley Walsh– Grade 11, Lithography Pencil titled, “The Mountain House”
Cameron Daley– Grade 11, Pastel Drawing titled “Spotlight”

The opening reception is located on the Russell Sage College campus at 140 New Scotland Avenue, Albany this Thursday, March 14th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a presentation of certificates and special recognitions at 6:15 p.m.

Should you be unable to attend the reception but wish to admire the remarkable display, you may also view the exhibition during regular gallery hours from March 12, 2024, to April 13, 2024. The Opalka Gallery doors are open from Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays.
