Recently, Paula De Andres, an APHS student, learned she will receive a generous scholarship from the University of Albany! Their Capital District Leadership Award rewards students with a passion for leadership and service experiences. This year, across the capital region’s schools, UAlbany recognized 10 students as Capital District Leaders and 29 freshmen were recognized as Capital District Fellows.
A university representative said, “The campus community looks forward to the contributions that Paula will bring to UAlbany, and the role that they will play here as a peer leader.”
Paula earned her spot as a Capital District Fellow and will receive the University of Albany’s Capital District Leadership Award! This scholarship encompasses an annual $3,000 for four years, totaling to $12,000.
When asked how this good news made her feel, Paula said, “It was really gratifying because all the work I put in middle and high school was finally paying off. I can put this towards my future.”
Paula is in the final phases of making a decision on where she will attend next year, and we wish her all the best.
