  7. BOE Approves Upcoming Changes...

During its meeting on Monday, July 15, 2024, the Averill Park Central School District’s Board of Education approved a $39.9 million Capital Project referendum which focuses on maintaining critical operating systems such as paving, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. Residents will vote on the referendum on Tuesday, September 24. More information will be sent to the community in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the BOE reviewed revised Code of Conduct and Safety plans for the 2024-25 school year. For your reference, the proposed Safety Plan can be accessed here and the proposed Code of Conduct can be accessed here. Changes to the Code of Conduct are in red and involve the inclusion of artificial intelligence in the Academic Integrity section (p. 32) and the Cyberbullying section (p. 41). There will be a public comment period for both documents, followed by the BOE voting to approve the changes in August prior to the start of the school year.
