Patricia Shaver has been working in the Averill Park Central School District as a bus driver for 29 years and is retiring this month.
Mrs. Shaver began her career at APCSD when she saw an ad in the Advertiser and applied because the position provided a convenient location and a great schedule, which coincided with her children’s, who were in school at the time.
“I love driving, period,” she said. She loves it so much that she will continue to drive as a substitute.
As for favorite memories, Mrs. Shaver remembers the time a neighborhood dog managed to get on the bus!
