At 5:01 p.m., the Chief Election Inspector for the Averill Park Central School District began the absentee ballot counting process for the School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election.
In total, 3,948 ballots were received. Due to the length of time the process is taking, all the ballots will be opened and separated from the return envelope and then locked away for the night. Vote counting will begin tomorrow, June 17, at 8:30 a.m.
In comparison, a total of 867 votes were cast last year.
