  7. Announcement from Governor Cuomo

On Friday, August 7, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that all school districts in New York State are authorized to reopen this fall. At this time, all regions in the State are below the threshold of positive COVID-19 cases that was previously established by the Governor’s Office.

The Averill Park Central School District will move ahead with its tentative Reopening Plan for the 2020-2021 school year, which can be found here. This plan is a living document and will be continuously updated on the website.

We recognize that many students and families may not feel comfortable with in-person learning, for a variety of reasons. On Thursday, August 6, the District sent out a form for parents to fill out indicating their choice of learning model for the fall. If you did not receive this form, please contact your building principal. This is due by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 12.

If you have a question or comment regarding reopening, please email reopen@apcsd.org. The district has developed a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document which will be updated with your questions. To view this document, click here.
