On Monday, Aug. 10 the Averill Park Central School District held a virtual community Q&A with Superintendent Dr. James Franchini and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Mr. Hladun. APCSD has already held multiple community presentations on reopening (here, here and here).

In line with Governor Cuomo’s directive for schools to hold three parent forums between August 7 and August 21, we will be holding the mandated forums this week. We want to provide these open forums for our community by the end of the day on Wednesday, Aug. 12, as this is the deadline for parents to fill out the learning and transportation choice form.

APCSD also held a Board of Education meeting on Aug. 10 and building level principals each held virtual Q&As on Aug. 11.

Superintendent Dr. Franchini will hold a final Q&A forum for any last-minute questions on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 1:00 p.m.

The deadline to complete the parent choice form is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. We are unable to push back this deadline as we need ample time to process the data and plan for the upcoming school year. To access this form, click here.

Please note that if you cannot attend any of these events, they will be recorded and posted on the district website. You may also submit questions regarding reopening to reopen@apcsd.org.
