  7. Algonquin News – Sept....

A GREAT START TO THE YEAR!

The year here at AMS has been off to a great start!

It has been wonderful to see students back in our halls, following our safety expectations and getting back to their learning.

We thank everyone for watching our Return to School video series, reading the many communications that have been sent out and for helping students during their at home learning days.

As we move forward, do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, team leader, counselor or principals if there is anything we can do to assist during the school year.

Thank you again for your continued support of our school.

Sincerely,
Rob Messia, Principal
Algonquin Middle School

AFTERNOON – STUDENT PICK UP AREA

This year we have an increase in the number of parents picking up their students at the end of the school day.

Parents arriving in the afternoon for pick up should park their vehicle in the side PFA lot.

Parking your vehicle instead of forming a circular line around the parking lot during this time helps to prevent traffic from backing up onto Route 66.

Here is a visual illustration of the PFA Parking Lot:

Again, please pull into the PFA Parking Lot and park your vehicle as your wait for your child to be dismissed at the end of the day.

Thank you for your help with this important safety issue.

REMINDER – EACH STUDENT MUST CHECK IN TO MORNING MEETING EACH DAY

As a reminder, all students must check in to their Morning Meeting Google Meet each school day morning starting at 7:45am.

Regardless of if they are attending in person or virtually, students will be marked tardy should they arrive later than 7:56am.

Students who do not participate in Morning Meeting are marked as absent for the school day.

Please help your child establish a good school morning routine so they can start their day on the right foot.

HYBRID STUDENTS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED PARENT HEALTH SCREENING EACH DAY

Attention 6-12 Hybrid Students and Families: To ensure the health and safety of all of our students and staff members, we are requiring hybrid students at the middle school and high school to complete the daily health screening every day, whether you are learning in-person or virtually at home.

Families must enter their child’s lunch PIN as part of this process.

Thank you for your assistance with this important health screening process.
