PLEASE CHECK SCHOOLTOOL THIS WEEKEND

This weekend, as we reach the midpoint of the first marking period, we are asking all students and parents/guardians to sit together to review their child’s academic progress over the past five weeks.

In particular we are asking that you review your child’s “Current Marking Period Average.”

Here is a video that will be shared with students on the morning announcements:

BRING OUTDOOR GEAR EACH DAY

As the temperatures drop a bit throughout October, please encourage your child to remember that we will still be having lunch outdoors on dry days and that many teachers will continue to hold classes outside and/or take their classes outside for mask breaks.

Having an extra layer and/or a hat is a good practice for the weeks ahead. Thank you.

FROM THE LIBRARY
An important Chromebook reminder: Please help your child be ready for school by reminding them to charge their Chromebook each night and to be sure to pack it in their backpack for the next school day. This should ensure that their school day and learning is not interrupted. Thank you!

ATTENDANCE REMINDERS

All AMS students are expected to engage in their school program from 7:45am until 2:30pm regardless of if they are in the building or at home.

APPOINTMENTS DURING ONLINE LEARNING DAYS: Parents of students who need to attend routine medical/dental appointments during their day at home should call the AMS Main Office to inform of a late arrival or early release from online learning. When the appointment is finished and the student is ready to return to their online learning, the parent should call the AMS Main Office to inform us that their child is back in attendance.

HYBRID STUDENTS WHO MISS THEIR FULL IN-PERSON DAY: Students who are scheduled to attend an in-person learning day at AMS but are unable to be physically present due to non-Covid symptom illness or other reason will be marked absent from school. Students are, however, expected to keep up with their school work as best as possible, similar to how they would last year. Should there be Google Meets or other activities going on that the student could readily participate in, they are welcome to join those groups, however they will continue to be marked absent for the day. The reason behind this is that there are distinct learning plans for each day for each cohort and it is not possible for a student to seamlessly switch from in-person to online learning.

EACH STUDENT MUST CHECK IN TO MORNING MEETING EACH DAY

As a reminder, all students must check in to their Morning Meeting Google Meet each school day morning starting at 7:45am.

Regardless of if they are attending in person or virtually, students will be marked tardy should they arrive later than 7:56am.

Students who do not participate in Morning Meeting are marked as absent for the school day.

Please help your child establish a good school morning routine so they can start their day on the right foot.

Thank you.
