I understand that many student-athletes, parents and coaches have been eagerly anticipating winter sports registration and ultimately the start of the winter season. The NYSPHSAA, Section 2 and the Suburban Council have been working tirelessly to put together a winter season that has the health and safety of our student-athletes and coaches as our top priority.
As of today only low and moderate risk sports are allowed to begin on November 30th. That includes boys bowling and girls bowling. Indoor track & field falls into this category as well however at this time there are no facilities in Section 2 available to host competitions. Boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, competitive cheerleading, and ice hockey are all considered high risk sports and as of today we have not received guidance from Governor Cuomo or the NYSPHSAA regarding their status.
Registration for boys bowling and girls bowling onlyis now open. Once high risk sports have been authorized to begin we will reopen registration for those sports. All bowlers must have their parent/guardian complete the Winter 2020-21 Registratio
