Six seniors have decided to give back to their communities in a big way, becoming members of four local fire companies.
Three joined Poestenkill, one joined Averill Park, one Mt. View and one West Sand Lake. All six students have completed their Basic Exterior Fire Operations class (BEFO), spending every Monday and Wednesday evening, plus some weekend from July through October.
In total, they have spent 79 hours in lectures and completing hands-on training. Next is Interior Firefighting Operations (IFO), which runs until mid-January.
