  7. Transitioning to Virtual Learning...

Averill Park CSD Community,

We know that you may have many questions regarding K-12 going fully remote until November 30.

Please note that there will be no in-person instruction beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 17). Tomorrow will continue to be a half-day for K-8 students to allow for parent-teacher conferences. The first half of the day will be conducted virtually.

Technology

If you indicated that you are in need of a device in the technology survey, one will be available for pick-up from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday this week. Teachers will expect students to have access to their devices for virtual instruction on Thursday. Wednesday learning will be conducted using take home packets. Questions should be directed to Lynn Burdick at burdickl@apcsd.org.

Childcare

GCC will not be running its typical before school and after school programs, but it will be offering a full-day program. If you already participate in the GCC program, an email has been sent with more information. Others who want more information should email contactus@gbccinc.org, though you may not be able to begin tomorrow.

Food Service

Food service will be available for anyone in need. Forms will be posted online to sign-up for meals. The High School form has already been completed for this week. For students in K-8 who wish to sign up, please fill out the form here by Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Questar III BOCES

Students who attend Questar III BOCES in CTE or New Visions will learn in a virtual setting. Students in Special Education Out-of-District Placements and Tech Valley High School will attend in-person and the District will provide transportation.

Daily Health Screening / Quarantine Questionnaire

Students and staff must continue to fill out the daily health screener during the period of 100% virtual learning. The quarantine questionnaire must be completed each day if you have been designated as a close contact by the Department of Health. Both of these forms can be found on the District website in the Quick Links section at the bottom of the home page.
