Over the weekend we received confirmation that two students have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, one at the middle school and one at the high school. These students have not been in our buildings since November 6.
The District has been in close contact with the Rensselaer County Department of Health, which takes the lead on contact tracing and identifying individuals who may need to quarantine.
We are closely monitoring data in the hope of returning to in-person learning as scheduled on Nov. 30. To help us achieve that goal, we take this opportunity to remind everyone to continue to:
- complete our daily health questionnaire
- wear face coverings or masks
- keep physical distancing
- wash your hands and practice good hygiene
- avoid mass gatherings
- avoid travel to high positivity states
- stay home if you are sick
While we understand that you would like additional details, we are not permitted by privacy laws to identify students or staff members involved. We have provided as much information as possible.
