Miller Hill-Sand Lake Elementary School fifth grader Alyson Thorsen is the recipient of the 2020-21 Kelsey Kittleson Memorial Music Scholarship.
The PTA-sponsored scholarship provides a fifth grade MHSL student with an instrument rental from John Keal Music and accessories to go with their instrument for their fifth grade year. Applicants were required to write an essay explaining why their love and passion for music inspired them to want to learn to play an instrument, and how they have, and will continue to, demonstrate the remarkable personal qualities that Kelsey possessed in her life.
Based on her outstanding essay, Alyson was selected as the recipient by a committee of teachers and the Kittleson family. Alyson has chosen to follow in both her brother Wyatt’s and Kelsey’s footsteps and is learning to play the cello. Congratulations, Aly!
