POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Extended School Detention Advisor
5 hours per week
2:30 pm ~ 5:00 pm (Tuesday and Thursday)
To begin April 13, 2021 and ending June 30, 2021
QUALIFICATIONS:
• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification is preferred
• Strong team skills
• Demonstrated experience affecting positive behavioral change in adolescent students
• Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and school staff
• Willingness to collaborate to develop and implement a restorative approach to students discipline
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Share direct supervision of up to 20 students in extended day detention
• Provide academic assistance to students on teacher generated assignments
• Record attendance and program notes
• Establish consistent communication with counselors, administration team and parents
• Implement behavior management strategies that incorporate discussion, reflection and restorative consequences
SALARY: At the professional hourly rate for Teaching Assistants as per
APTA Agreement ($30.00 per hour)
