  7. Change to Daily Health...

Over the weekend, the New York State Department of Health revised its guidance related to international travel. Our daily health screening tool will reflect these changes, effective Tuesday, April 13. Question 4 on the survey will now read:

In accordance with the NYS Travel Advisory, at this time, asymptomatic domestic and international travelers arriving in NYS are not required to test or quarantine. Any student/employee developing any symptoms listed above should immediately self-isolate and contact the local public health authority or their health care provider to report this change in clinical status and determine if they should seek testing. Students who are experiencing COVID-related symptoms should not report to school and notify their school nurse. Employees who are experiencing COVID-related symptoms should not report to work and notify their supervisor and the Human Resources department.

All travelers must complete the NYS Travel Form unless the traveler had left New York for less than 24 hours or is coming to New York from a contiguous state (i.e., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont). For specific travel guidance, please visit the NYS Travel Advisory website.

Precautions for All Travelers:

Irrespective of quarantine or vaccination status, all travelers should:

  • Monitor symptoms daily from day of arrival in New York through day 14.
  • Continue strict adherence to all recommended non-pharmaceutical interventions, including hand hygiene and the use of face coverings, through Day 14 (even if fully vaccinated).
  • Immediately self-isolate if any symptoms develop and contact the local public health authority or their health care provider to report this change in clinical status and determine if they should seek testing.
