HONOR A VETERAN FROM YOUR FAMILY – AMS VETERANS WALL

In honor of Veterans Day, AMS will create a commemorative wall honoring people in our lives who have served their country.

Students are encouraged to make a commemorative brick using the link below:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1XB_H7yIa0A8KtubxFz9D5tbmd49HvsJLEFtJ9YP6jG8/copy
All completed “bricks” should be shared with andersonc@apcsd.org
Please take this opportunity to honor the individuals who have risked and lost their lives in ensuring our nation’s everlasting freedom.

Thank you!
The AMS Social Studies Team

GO HOME EARLY DRILL 11/10

On Wednesday, November 10th we will be conducting a go home early drill. We will be dismissing 15 minutes earlier, at 2:10pm, for this drill. All students and staff will exit the building at 2:10pm. Students riding busses will proceed onto their busses at that time. Students who walk or get picked up will wait in a designated area until the busses have left. At that point they will then dismiss as they typically do from the sidewalk in front of the school or in front of the PFA wing.

ALGONQUIN PARENT ORGANIZATION (APO) – NEXT MEETING:

The next APO meeting is Monday, November 15th from 7 to 8 in the AMS Library. This is meeting 2 of 3 for this school year. Those wishing to attend virtually should email Cat Headley (Headley70@gmail.com) to receive a link.

The agenda includes an update from Dr. Rhode, a debrief on the events that have occurred so far this school year and plans for the next 6 months including a brand new winter event. APO activities so far this year have been very well attended and we are in need of more volunteers to continue enriching our students’ experience at AMS. Come to the meeting to see how you can help or continue to check the weekly email for the Volunteer Google Form coming soon.

Save the date: Our last meeting will be Monday, March 7th, same time and place.

LATE BUS SERVICE RETURNS ON 11/30

Late bus service will be restarting at a later time of day beginning on Tuesday, November 30th.

Late bus runs will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

Late buses will leave AMS at approximately 4:30 pm each Tuesday and Thursday.

This later departure time is a result of bus staffing shortages and our attempt to creatively provide late bus service to students.

Students that need to use the late bus no later than 9am on the day that the late bus is scheduled for by clicking on the link provided on their Team Landing Page.

More information about late buses will be shared with students later in the month.

PLEASE HAVE STUDENTS WEAR LAYERS

As the fall progresses and we continue to offer as much outside activity as possible, including lunch, we would like to encourage all of our students to wear layers each day to school.

Please note that students are not allowed to wear blankets in school.

Wearing layers will help students be ready for outdoor activities, as well as our increased fresh air in the building with open windows.
