During a Board of Education meeting on Monday, December 13, the Board granted tenure to Jaimie Hajduk.
Ms. Hajduk began as a substitute teacher in the Averill Park Central School District before accepting a position as a Teaching Assistant, and then a full-time fifth grade teacher at Poestenkill Elementary School.
When Ms. Hajduk was young, she initially wanted to be a veterinarian, but soon realized that wasn’t for her.
“I remember in high school, telling my teachers that when I was older I wanted to be a teacher just like them,” she said. “My teachers made school fun and enjoyable and I wanted to follow in their footsteps. My favorite part of teaching is building a classroom family each year. We are able to grow together and create fun memories.”
Fun Fact! Ms. Hajduk’s favorite tv show is the Golden Girls. She’s currently watching the series for the fifth time!
