During tonight’s Board of Education meeting, a revised 2021-22 school calendar was approved, making Friday, March 18 a half-day of instruction for students in grades 6-12. Please note that grades K-5 will operate on a normal full-day schedule.
The girls basketball team plays West Babylon at Hudson Valley Community College at 11:45 a.m. on Friday in the NYSPHSAA semifinals. Advancing to this stage, so close to home, is a rare opportunity and we would like to give our student body the chance to attend and support our student-athletes without missing instructional time. Students may also choose to visit the Empire State Plaza to watch our Vocal and Instrumental Music students who will be performing on the Concourse. As we continue to focus on mental health and wellness, we feel it is especially important to have our students come together for positive, in-person experiences.
Please know that half-day runs are challenging for our Transportation Department. We are going to attempt to provide a spectator bus(es) to the basketball game for students only. More information will follow from building principals if this is possible.
Tickets for the basketball game are available online only and can be purchased ahead of time here. The game will also be shown on the NFHS Network, which requires a paid subscription.
