Elementary students at MHSL, PES, and WSL were treated to a virtual visit with a favorite author, Katherine Applegate, courtesy of Northshire Bookstore.
Ms. Applegate talked about two of her books, “Doggo and Pupper” and “Doggo and Pupper Save the World,” which are part of a trilogy. She talked about the story development: creating characters, setting, problem, and a solution.
Ms. Applegate used examples from some of her other novels, including, Wishtree, Crenshaw, Willodeen, Odder, the Endling Trilogy, and The One and Only Ivan. Students at WSL had a special connection to the author, as they are currently enjoying The One and Only Ivan as their K-5 One School One Book.
Students had questions answered by Ms. Applegate. She inspired students to write, illustrate, and create.
